Artist's Statement

Hammer Fractured Face
I wanted to capture the many emotions seen on a human face and to compile these expressions into a single photograph. In this image, a range of expressions were digitally joined together to make a cubist style rendering.

Metaphysical Entities
Everyone has both a good and bad side. I visualized this dichotomy by showing these sides as different entities of the same person. As influences for both composition and lighting, I looked at painters such as Caravaggio, Bosch, Bouguereau, and Raphael.
