RAIN POSTPONES TIGER BASEBALL REGIONAL CONTEST TO 7 AM SATURDAY

SALISBURY, MD—Hampden-Sydney’s baseball contest with Ferrum College, scheduled to be played Friday morning at 11 am in the second round of action at the 2005 NCAA Division III Baseball South Regional Tournament has been postponed due to heavy rains in the Delmarva area. The game is tentatively scheduled to be played at 11 am Saturday morning at Arthur Perdue Stadium, home of the Class A Delmarva Shorebirds. Hampden-Sydney (25-13) will be looking for its first-ever trip to a regional championship contest with a win over third-seeded and 20th-ranked Ferrum (22-12-1) as the winner of Friday’s game advances into the title game, with the regional winner advancing to the NCAA Division III College World Series in Appleton, Wisconsin, next weekend.
