TIGERS’ HADRA EARNS SECOND TEAM ALL-LEAGUE HONORS

HORNELL, NY—Hampden-Sydney College rising senior Daniel Hadra (Mechanicsville, VA/Atlee) received New York Collegiate Baseball League second team honors following a successful season this summer.  Hadra is in his first season as a member of the Hornell Dodgers, recording a 4-1 record in 12 appearances.  This season, the right-handed pitcher had a 2.01 ERA in 53 and two-thirds innings pitched.  Hadra recorded 46 strikeouts, while only allowing eight walks.

Founded in 1978, the New York Collegiate Baseball League is a summer, wood bat development league for professional baseball.  The league gives college players, who have not yet signed a professional contract, the opportunity to develop their skills at a higher level of play, gain experience with wood bats, and be evaluated by scouts.

The New York Collegiate Baseball League consists of 12 teams, including a 44-game regular season during the months of June and July.  In the post-season, the NYCBL hosts an eight team play-off with the League Championship Series concluding in the first week of August.
