BREEDLOVE NAMED ODAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK SALEM, VA (March 17, 2008)—Hampden-Sydney sophomore pitcher Bryan Breedlove (Suffolk, VA/Nansemond-Suffolk) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. Breedlove earns the honor after leading the Tigers to a 3-0 complete-game win against 21st-ranked North Carolina Wesleyan and several scoreless innings of relief work on the week. Against the Bishops, the sophomore earned the complete-game victory, working nine scoreless innings with only four hits and one walk, while striking out five. For the week, Breedlove worked 13.2 innings, allowing only one run, none earned, on eight hits and four walks. The sophomore went 1-0 and earned a save in the four appearances, striking out 11 batters and posting a 0.00 ERA. Breedlove and the rest of the Tigers return to action on Wednesday, March 19, as Hampden-Sydney will welcome Christopher Newport University to Yank Bernier Field.
