TONEY NAMED ODAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

SALEM, VA (February 11, 2008)—Hampden-Sydney senior David Toney (Mechanicsville, VA/Lee-Davis) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week.  Toney earns the honor after leading the the Tigers to a 1-2 weekend as he batted .500 with four runs scored, five RBI, and two walks.  Toney also hit one double and two home runs during the three-game span.

In a doubleheader against Averett, Toney went 3-for-6 with three runs scored and two RBI.  Against the cougars, Toney hit a double and a solo shot in game one and another solo blast in game two.  Against St. Mary's, Toney went 2-for-4 with one run scored and three RBI.

Toney and the rest of the Tigers return to action on Tuesday, February 12, as Hampden-Sydney will travel to Newport News, VA to take on Christopher Newport University.  The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 pm
