2007: Once again, Coach Jeff Kinne led the

25-18 overall record and 13-5 mark in the ODAC. The Tigers finished the
regular season tied for first-place and were the two-seed in the ODAC

second time in three years, but fell to Bridgewater. For the second time,
Kinne was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
2006: In 2006, Kinne led the Tigers to their third

from advancing to the championship contest. Kinne's Tigers posted a 23-16
record overall and a 13-5 mark in the conference, earning the second seed in the
tournament.
2005: In just his second year in 2005, Kinne led the squad to
unprecedented heights as the Tigers captured their second Old Dominion Athletic
Conference Championship, won their first-ever South Region Championship and
became the first ODAC team to advance to the Division III Baseball Championship
Series. Meanwhile, Kinne's team won a school-record 27 games as he
improved his two-year coaching record to 45-34 (.570), while he was tabbed the
ODAC Coach of the Year and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)
Division III South Region Coach of the Year.
2004: In Kinne's first season in 2004, he led the Tigers to an 18-19 mark overall, 11-7
mark in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and managed the team to within
three outs of the conference championship contest in the 2004 ODAC Baseball
Tournament.
Jeff Kinne joined the Hampden-Sydney coaching ranks in
June, 2003. Kinne brought nearly ten years of coaching experience to the
position, having worked as an assistant coach at Mary Washington College,
Washington and Lee University, Virginia Military Institute and Charleston
Southern University and as a head coach for one year at New Hampshire Technical Institute.
As the pitching coach at Mary Washington, the Eagles staff led the
Capital Athletic Conference in ERA, batting average against and strikeouts per
nine innings, while the team ERA ranked 12th best nationally.
As the head coach at New Hampshire Tech, Kinne led the
junior college program to a conference regular season championship in 1995 as
the team went from worst to first in one season. After his stint in New Hampshire, he worked for two years at
Charleston Southern as a hitting and defensive coach, while also serving as an
assistant sports information director and an assistant in the CSU athletics
ticket office.
“Jeff brings a wealth of baseball experience to
Hampden-Sydney College,” said Athletics Director Joe Bush upon Kinne's hiring.
“He has a proven track record as an outstanding recruiter.
Coach Kinne’s familiarity with the ODAC and the state of Virginia will
enable our baseball program to continue to improve in the coming years.”
From 1998 through 2001, Kinne worked in Lexington, VA,
spending two seasons at VMI and another season at Washington and Lee.
While at VMI, he served as the team’s pitching coach, while also
overseeing the office budget, team travel budget and recruiting budget.
He also served as a primary recruiter at both VMI and W&L, while the
two schools experienced unprecedented success. During his tenure at VMI, the
Keydets set a
school record for wins in 1999, while W&L established a new school mark in
2001.
Kinne is a native of Salisbury, NH, and he and his wife,
Jennifer, have two sons, Mattison and Mason.
