2004-05: Edwards will look to be one of the team’s scoring leaders
this season as he hopes to break into the starting lineup. Is the only other
returning player other than senior Brian Gunn who averaged over 14 minutes per
game and played in all 30 contests a year ago, which will be valuable as he
looks to be a go-to player this year.
2003-2004: Edwards was the only freshman to see action in all 30 games in
2003-04... Averaged 4.8 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 14.6
minutes-per-game... Led the team at the charity stripe where he had a penchant
for making clutch free throws, icing Tiger victories over Division I Longwood
and Virginia Wesleyan in the ODAC Championship game with free throws down the
stretch... Averaged 84 percent from the line as he converted on 38-of-45
attempts... Scored a career-high 12 points against both Longwood and Eastern
Mennonite... Also grabbed a career-high eight rebounds against Eastern
Mennonite... Dished out a career-best five assists in Tigers’ 105-63 victory
over Guilford... Scored in 29 of 30 games during the season.
High School: Was a three-year letter-winner at the Steward School under
coach Butch Carter... Was named Virginia Independent Schools Division III State
Player of the Year as a senior… Earned Virginia Independent Schools Division III
