Career: Burrell will make the move to safety in 2004 after playing linebacker the past two seasons… Has a nose for the ball and in 2003 he ranked second on the team with a careerhigh 60 tackles… Recorded one sack on the year and had eight tackles for a loss… Recovered one fumble and forced a fumble during the season… Played in four games as a freshman in 2002, making four tackles.

Career: Named First Team All- ODAC in 2003… Made 14 receptions for 244 yards and two touchdowns on the year… Both of his TDs came against Maryville as he hauled in passes from 58 and nine yards out… Dull made an immediate impact with the Tigers in 2002 as his first three career receptions went for touchdowns as he scored on a nine-yard pass in a 37-22 victory over Gettysburg and then caught two TD passes against Davidson, including one for 78 yards… Overall, caught four passes for 99 yards and three TDs in 2002.

Career: Hall will return to the lineup in 2004 after a solid campaign a year ago in which he was a leading tackler on special teams… Finished the year with a career-high 18 tackles, including 12 solo stops… Also had a fumble recovery and a forced fumble… Played in five games as a freshman in 2002, making five tackles…Also a member of the Tigers baseball team.


33 Johnny Junes

Career: A talented running back, gives the Tigers a solid one-two punch with he and CW Clemmons… Recorded career-high numbers with 341 yards on 81 carries (4.2 ypc)…. Finished the season with seven touchdowns, including a pair of goal-line romps in the Tigers 52-33 win over Guilford… Ran for career-high 76 yards in Tigers victory over Emory and Henry… Rushed for 156 yards during his freshman campaign in 2002… Averaged 3.9 yards-per-carry as a freshman…Also made five tackles on special teams… Was a First Team All-Colonial District, Central Region, Richmond Metro at Mills Godwin…Set regular season school rushing record at Mills Godwin rushing for 1,446 yards on 202 carries averaging over seven yards per carry and scoring record notching 26 TD’s.


96 Jeff Kent

Career: Kent will be looking to break into the starting lineup on the defensive line in 2004… Had a solid season last year as he recorded 16 tackles and one sack… Also made three tackles for a loss of 15 yards… Saw action in one game as a freshman and recorded one tackle.

Career: Patterson will be looking to take over the starting center position in 2004 after the departure of All-American Lee Bailey… Patterson played in every contest in 2003 as a reserve.


21 Zach Price
Linebacker

Career: Moved into a starting position as a sophomore in 2003 and will look to continue his strong performance at the linebacker spot in 2004… Finished 2003 seventh on the team with a career-high 46 tackles… Also recorded one sack to go along with six tackles for a loss of 32 yards… Showed his versatility with four batted passes in 2003… Played sparingly in 2002, recording just one tackle…First Team All-Dominion District player as a senior at James River High School.


10 JD Ricca

23 Career: A consensus preseason all-American entering the 2004 season… Has been named a first team preseason all-American by Lindy’s, is a second team pick by D3football.com and a third-team pick by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette… Recorded the most-prolific passing season of any Tiger quarterback in 2003 as he completed 206-of-336 passes for 3,032 yards and 29 touchdowns, with just ten interceptions… Earned First Team All-ODAC and was named Virginia SID’s College Division State Player of the Year… Also earned Football Gazette All- South honors… His 159.6 efficiency rating and 315 yards of offense per contest both ranked eighth in NCAA Division III… Completed 61.3 percent of his passes and averaged 303.2 yards passing per contest… Set a Hampden-Sydney single-game record with 476 yards passing against Emory and Henry… Tied the ODAC record with six touchdown passes (all in the first half) in H-SC’s 82-14 victory over Maryville… Had at least one TD pass in nine of the Tigers ten games in 2003… Threw for more than 250 yards on eight occasions …As a freshman in 2002, he played in eight games and completed 50 percent of his passes (10-for-20) for 115 yards and two touchdowns…A highly touted offensive star out of St. John’s High School in Washington, DC,…Was the USA Today Player of the Year from the D.C. area in 2001... Brother, Kevin Ricca, is a former All-American quarterback at Catholic University.


26 Brian Rolander

Career: Developed into a solid target in 2003 and will look to become a major threat within the Tiger offense in 2004… Made 19 receptions for 349 yards last season… His 18.4 yards-per-reception ranked as the second-best mark on the team… Caught five touchdown passes, including his first career TD on a ten yard pass from JD Ricca in the Tigers first game of the season against ewanee… First Team allstate as a kick returner and as a receiver at Broadwater Academy in 2001.


68 Zeke Traylor

Career: Will look to move into a starting role as an offensive guard in 2004… Played well in a reserve role in 2003 and is ready to make the move to the starting spot this season.


72 Paul Williams
Offensive Line

Career: The lone returning starter on the offensive line in 2004… Transferred to Hampden-Sydney from Carson Newman and started every game at offensive guard in 2003… Helped anchor an offensive line that paved the way for the nation’s top scoring offense (47.2 ppg) and one that averaged 521.4 yardsper- game… Williams and the ‘03 offensive line also allowed just 11 sacks.


45 Asim Wilson
Linebacker
Jr., 5-10, 220
Richmond, VA
Varina

Career: One of several talented linebackers on the Tiger defense, Wilson had a solid season in 2003 and will be looking to become a top performer in 2004… In nine games, Wilson recorded a career-high 33 tackles to go with a sack and four tackles for a loss of 14 yards…Played in five games as a freshman in 2002…Recorded three tackles on the year, including one for a loss of yardage… Prepped at Varina High School where team won three region titles in four years.
