JAMES RILEY NAMED TO D3FOOTBALL.COM TEAM OF THE WEEK

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (September 15, 2004)—Hampden-Sydney senior defensive end James Riley (Richmond, VA/James River) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after his outstanding defensive effort in the Tigers 59-16 victory over Gettysburg. 

Riley paced the Tiger defense on the day with seven tackles total, including five solo.  Overall, Riley recorded two sacks, three tackles for loss, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble and batted a pass, as Hampden-Sydney’s defense limited the Bullets to just one touchdown and just 188 yards of total offense.

Riley and the 15^th-ranked Tiger football team return to action Saturday, September 25, as the Tigers play host to Old Dominion Athletic Conference-foe Guilford College at 1 pm at Hundley Stadium and Fulton Field as part of Family Weekend at the College.  The game will be broadcast live on FM 95.7 WFLO and on the internet at www.hsc.edu/athletics.
