WES HALL NAMED ODAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK


SALEM, VA (October 11, 2004)—Hampden-Sydney College junior linebacker Wes Hall (Roanoke, VA/Cave Spring) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping guide the Tigers to a 52-21 victory over Emory and Henry on Saturday.  Hall becomes the second Tiger defensive player to earn the weekly honor in 2004. 

Hall paced the Tiger defensive effort on the day as he recorded a team-high eight tackles, while also picking off his second pass of the season and returning it 53 yards to the Emory and Henry five-yard-line, setting up the Tigers second touchdown of the game. 

For the season, Hall ranks fifth on the Tiger football team with 22 tackles to go with two interceptions and three and one-half tackles for a loss of 11 yards. 

Hall and the Hampden-Sydney football team return to action Saturday, October 16, as the Tigers travel to Lexington, VA, to take on Washington and Lee University at 1 pm.  The game will be broadcast live on FM 95.7 WFLO and on the internet at www.hsc.edu/athletics.
