ADAM BRAITHWAITE JOINS TIGER FOOTBALL COACHING STAFF

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (January 19, 2007)—Hampden-Sydney College Head Football Coach Marty Favret announced today the addition of Adam Braithwaite to the Tiger football coaching staff.  Braithwaite joins the Hampden-Sydney football program from West Virginia University, where he was an assistant defensive coach, working primarily with the linebackers and the secondary.

Braithwaite brings valuable experience to the Tiger coaching staff as he spent the previous two seasons with West Virginia University, serving as a secondary coach in 2005 and linebackers coach in 2006.  While at West Virginia, Braithwaite helped lead the Mountaineers to the 2006 Nokia Sugar Bowl and the 2007 Gator Bowl.  Before his stint as an assistant coach at West Virginia, Braithwaite worked with the secondary at The College of William and Mary. “We obviously are very pleased to have Adam aboard here at Hampden-Sydney," stated Favret.  "His varied background as a player and coach at William & Mary, and his last two years working under Coach Rodriquez at West Virginia, made him an extremely attractive candidate. I think Tiger fans can expect to see an entirely new look to our defensive scheme this fall.”

Braithwaite, who is a graduate of The College of William and Mary with a degree in Kinesiology, will serve as the Tiger Defensive Coordinator.  Braithwaite also received his Master of Science in Athletic Coaching Education from West Virginia University.

Braithwaite resides in Farmville, VA.
