SEDLAR NAMED ODAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

SALEM, VA (September 10, 2007)—Hampden-Sydney College sophomore quarterback Corey Sedlar (Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday’s, 54-7, win over Gettysburg College.  The honor is the first of Sedlar’s career.

Sedlar completed 23-of-34 passes for 258 yards and four touchdowns to help lead the Tiger offense against the Bullets.  Sedlar found three different Tigers on his scoring strikes, connecting with Josh Baumgartner (Vinton, VA/William Byrd) twice and tossing the other scores to Drew Smith (Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) and Zach Miller (Lebanon, VA/Lebanon).  He had touchdown passes of four, ten, 36 and 39 yards.

On the season, Sedlar has a 66.1 completion percentage (39-of-59) to go along with 428 yards, six touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Sedlar will lead the Tigers on the road this Saturday as Hampden-Sydney will face King's College at 1:30 pm.  The Monarchs enter play with a 0-2 overall record, and this marks the first meeting between the two schools.
