SALEM, VA (October 22, 2007)-- Hampden-Sydney College senior Bob Boykin (Virginia Beach, VA/Cox) has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week.  Boykin earned the honor as a result of his first-place finish at the Virginia State Intercollegiate.  The honor marks Boykin's first of the season and second of his career.

Boykin won medalist honors at the 36-hole tournament with a two-day score of 139, finishing with rounds of 72 and 67.  Boykin finished at five under par, three strokes ahead of the second place finisher.  Boykin's round of 67 was also a season-low.  This season, Boykin has recorded two top-five finishes and three top-ten finishes.

The Tiger Golfers open the spring portion of the 2007-2008 season at the Marlin Invitational in Virginia Beach, VA on March 1-2, hosted by Virginia Wesleyan College.
