Matt Green is in his first year with the Sports Information Department at
Hampden-Sydney College. At Hampden-Sydney he is the media and marketing
contact for the Tiger soccer, lacrosse, cross country, and tennis programs.
Green was named Assistant SID at Hampden-Sydney in June 2007 after serving as
a student assistant for two years. He is
responsible for the marketing, media relations, and sports information aspects
of the Hampden-Sydney soccer, lacrosse, cross country, and tennis programs. He writes, edits, and designs all
media publications for each of those four sports that are distributed through the Hampden-Sydney Athletics Department
and supervises and maintains the College’s athletics website for each team, manually updating
the sites and providing all written content.
Green graduated from Hampden-Sydney in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in
Mathematical Economics. After transferring from Dartmouth College in 2004,
Green was a three-year member of the Tiger basketball squad and, in addition
to helping lead the Tigers to its tenth ODAC Championship, earned 2007 ODAC
Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors as a senior captain. While a student at Hampden-Sydney,
Green worked for the Sports
Information Department, helping with game-day operations for soccer, baseball,
and lacrosse.
Green is a native of Richmond, VA.
