FOUR TIGERS EARN VASID ALL-STATE HONORS

ASHLAND, VA (June 12, 2007)—Four members of the Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse team have been named to the 2007 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) all-state teams.  Senior  Ryan Harrington (Dallas, TX/Plano) and juniors Colin Dunn (Chevy Chase, MD/Trinity Pawling) and Alex Pritzlaff (Castle Rock, CO/Kent Denver) earned first team honors, while senior midfielder Thomas Jennings (Murfreesboro, TN/Webb School) was named to the second team.  Roanoke's Jon Mason was named the 2007 VaSID Player of the Year, while the Maroon's Bill Pilat was named Coach of the Year.

Harrington earns first team honors after scoring a team-high 34 goals and 43 points, while his nine assists placed him fourth on the team.  Harrington was honored as a first team All-ODAC and second team All-America selection.  Harrington became the first Tiger to be invited to participate in the Warrior Major League Lacrosse Senior Challenge and was also invited to play in the 2007 North-South Division III Senior Classic.

Dunn earns first team honors, his third consecutive year, after scoring five goals, recording three assists, and grabbing 88 ground balls as a long-stick midfielder.  Dunn was also successful on 4-of-9 face-offs for a .444 winning percentage.  Dunn earned first team All-ODAC honors for the third consecutive season, while also being selected as a third team All-America honoree.

Pritzlaff earns first team honors after helping lead a Hampden-Sydney defense that allowed only 6.51 goals-per-game.  Pritzlaff recorded 23 ground balls on the season, earning second team All-ODAC and honorable mention All-America honors.

Jennings earns second team honors as he scored 28 goals and dished out 11 assists for 39 points on the season.  Jennings earned second team All-ODAC and honorable mention All-America honors.  Jennings was invited to participate in the 2007 North-South Division III Senior Classic.
