TIGERS' DUNN GARNERS ODAC LAX PLAYER OF THE WEEK ACCOLADES

(April 14, 2008) SALEM, VA - Hampden-Sydney senior defenseman Colin Dunn (Chevy Chase, MD/Trinity Pawling) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week following two strong performances that helped the Tigers score a pair of key conference victories. For the week, Dunn notched four goals, an assist, and nine ground balls while causing three turnovers and winning both of his face-off opportunities as Hampden-Sydney defeated Guilford and Roanoke to improve to 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the ODAC.

After scoring one goal and scooping three ground balls in the Tigers' Wednesday afternoon triumph over the Quakers in Greensboro, Dunn pieced together a masterful performance against the rival Maroons on Saturday. Dunn scored three goals, including a sensational behind-the-head strike in overtime to propel the Tigers to a thrilling 13-12 extra time victory over Roanoke, the Tigers' first win over the Maroons in their last five tries. In addition to his three tallies, Dunn recorded one assist and six ground balls, giving him five goals, three assists and 49 ground balls on the season.

Hampden-Sydney returns to ODAC action on Saturday afternoon, April 19 when it travels to Lexington, VA to square off with Washington and Lee University. Game time is slated for 1 pm.
