TIGERS' O'SHEA TABBED ODAC LAX PLAYER OF THE WEEK

(February 25, 2008) SALEM, VA - After leading Hampden-Sydney to a 5-2 victory over Mary Washington in its season opener on Saturday afternoon, the Tigers' Andrew O'Shea (Richmond, VA/Collegiate) has been named ODAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week.

The sophomore midfielder tallied two goals and two assists while scooping two ground balls for the Tigers to help propel the squad to a 1-0 start. O'Shea assisted on Hampden-Sydney's first and third goals and helped seal the win with two unassisted, second half strikes. The Player of the Week honor is O'Shea's first in his young career.

Hampden-Sydney will return to action on Saturday, March 1 as it hosts No. 2 Gettysburg on Hellmuth-Pritzlaff Field. Face-off is scheduled for 1 pm.
