THREE LAX TIGERS SELECTED PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA

(December 5, 2007) HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA - Hampden-Sydney placed three players, all defensemen, on the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Preseason Division III All-America Team. Seniors Colin Dunn (Chevy Chase, MD/Trinity Pawling), Alex Pritzlaff (Castle Rock, CO/Kent Denver) and Ian York (Charlottesville, VA/St. Anne's-Belfield) all secured spots on the preseason squad, which features the top lacrosse players in the country.

Dunn, a 2008 captain, received first team Preseason All-America honors while Pritzlaff landed on the second team and York garnered honorable mention recognition. All three Tigers serve as the foundation of arguably the top defense in the nation, one that allowed under seven goals-per-game (6.51) in 2007.

A three time first team All-ODAC selection and 2007 USILA third team All-America honoree, Dunn returns in 2008 to build upon a fantastic junior campaign, which saw him score five goals, notch three assists and scoop a team-high 88 ground balls. In 2008, Dunn will be called upon to get more involved in the attack and play in most man-up situations.

This is the third Preseason All-America honor for Pritzlaff, who was also a first team All-ODAC selection and honorable mention All-America choice in 2007. A quick athlete with excellent feet and an intangible feel for the game, Pritzlaff will once again be counted on to defend the opponent's best and most agile attackman.

York, who earned second team All-ODAC accolades in 2007, is poised to have another stellar year for the Tigers. His strong 6-foot-5, 215 pound frame makes him a prime choice to match up against many of the big and strong attackmen that Hampden-Sydney will face. York grabbed 28 ground balls in 2007 to go along with one goal, which he scored against conference rival Roanoke.
