(November 13, 2006) HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA - The Hampden-Sydney soccer team has announced the captains for the 2007 season.  The 2007 Tiger captains are junior Greg Danahy (Roanoke, VA/Hidden Valley), sophomore Ben Marchetti (Richmond, VA/Benedictine), and sophomore Michael Krewinghaus (Yorktown, VA/Tabb). 

Hampden-Sydney Head Coach Josh Laux is excited about the leadership qualities that each of these student-athletes brings to the pitch as he states, “These three individuals represent what our program is all about.  I am confident that they will provide our program with quality leadership on and off the field.  We played a very tough schedule this past season and did very well, but our 2007 schedule is even more challenging.  We are going to go into some very tough battles next season, and it is imperative that these three young men lead our team in a such a way that we can achieve success.”

The 2007 soccer team will look to build off their impressive 2006 campaign in which the Tigers finished with a 10-6-2 overall record.
