GREG SMITH HONORED AS ODAC SOCCER SCHOLAR-ATHLETE

SALEM, VA (November 3, 2006) -- Senior midfielder Greg Smith was honored as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Soccer Scholar-Athlete.  Smith was selected by the ODAC Sports Information Directors.  Smith has a 3.92 GPA and is majoring in mathematical economics.

Smith was selected based on his abilities in the classroom and on the soccer field.  Smith is a Madison Scholar and also received the Presidential Scholarship.  He has been selected into two National Honor Societies including Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Beta Kappa.  On the pitch, Smith is a two-time captain for the Tigers.  During his career, Greg scored 13 goals and record 12 assists.  This season, Smith scored six goals and dished out an ODAC-leading nine assists.

Smith hails from Warrenton, Virginia where he attended Fauquier High School. He is the son of Mark and Rona Smith.
