LAUX NAMES TIGERS' BUTLER CO-CAPTAIN HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (September 13, 2007)—Head Coach Josh Laux has tabbed junior midfielder Jason Butler (Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) a co-captain for the remainder of the 2007 season. Butler joins senior Greg Danahy (Roanoke, VA/Hidden Valley) and classmates Michael Krewinghaus (Yorktown, VA/Tabb) and Ben Marchetti (Richmond, VA/Benedictine), giving the Tigers four strong leaders as the team works toward capturing the program's first Old Dominion Athletic Conference title. "So far our team has gotten off to a shaky start," said Laux. "We need a spark, and Peanut [Butler] is one of the hardest working players in the conference. He is also the most passionate player I have ever coached at H-SC." Butler has been superb in the midfield for the Tigers this season, scoring one goal and tallying two assists while starting in all five matches. Laux believes that Butler's new responsibility will benefit the team. "We need a jump start before we get going with ODAC play," Laux said. "We hope that by putting Peanut in a leadership position, he will be able to have an even more positive effect on our team and help us gain momentum."
