Assistant Soccer Coach

Matt Cooper

Matt Cooper is in his second season as assistant soccer coach on Josh Laux's coaching staff. Cooper is a 2006 graduate of Randolph-Macon College, earning his B.S. in Sociology. A four-year starter as a player at R-MC, Cooper brings valuable on-field experience to the Tiger coaching staff.

His playing career and resume is quite impressive - Cooper was a three-time All-ODAC selection, two-time Regional All-American, and a two-time VaSID All-State choice. Cooper was twice selected to the ODAC All-Tournament Team.

As assistant coach, Cooper has done a superb job recruiting new talent to the Tiger roster. Last season in his first year, Cooper helped lead the soccer Tigers to a 10-6-2 record, the team's best final mark since 2002.
