PUGH EARNS ODAC TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK ACCOLADES

SALEM, VA (February 25, 2008)– Hampden-Sydney freshman tennis player Rich Pugh (Augusta, GA/Lakeside) has been named ODAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week after posting an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory over Randolph College No. 1 Kyle Schneck in the Tigers' 9-0 triumph over the Wildcats in the season opener for both schools this past Saturday. Pugh was also victorious in doubles, teaming up with sophomore Kenneth Holzapfel to collect an 8-2 win over their Randolph counterparts.

Pugh, playing No. 1 in place of reigning ODAC Player and Rookie of the Year Will Moss, showed tremendous promise for Head Coach Murrie Bates and the Hampden-Sydney squad.

The Tennis Tigers return to the court on Friday, February 29 as the they travel to Greensboro, NC to take on Greensboro College at 1 pm.
