 STUDENT EMPLOYMENT JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Library -- Needed for the circulation desk, shelving and for the interlibrary loans.

Development Services -- Filing, photocopying and proofreading correspondence and gift receipts.

Career Services -- Clerical duties and administrative support to include answering phones, receiving students and visitors, type, file and other related office duties.

Registrar’s Office -- Clerical duties to include filing, alphabetizing, copying confidential information, collating packets and mailings to parents, faculty and students.

Fuqua International Communications Center -- Experience in computers and media software, videotape cameras, VCRs and editing equipment. Desire to create educational programs and web pages.

Fine Arts -- File slides used in history classes.

Catering -- Very flexible schedule to assist in the catering department.

English Dept -- Design monthly newsletter and calendar for Lecturers and Programs Committee.

Bookstore -- Duties would consist of operating cash register, answering phones, stocking shelves, assisting with shipping and receiving merchandise.

Office of the Dean of Faculty -- Cover phones during lunch period of 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, answer phones, make appointments, copies and other jobs as assigned.

Dean of Students -- Duties include greeting students and visitors, answering phones, copying, collating, running errands around campus and other office duties as assigned.

 

Public Relations – Office Assistant: duties include stuffing envelopes for news releases to parents and newspapers,  copying, alphabetizing, filing, entering data, and running errands.  Must have good computer skills and be courteous and dependable. (Position Open-Fall 2007)

 

Communications Assistant: compose, print, and distribute news for table tents; hang event posters on campus.  Must have good judgment and computer skills and be courteous and dependable.  (Position Filled-Fall 2007)



Assistant Cashier - Assist faculty, staff and students with cash transactions, assist cashier with posting of transactions in accounts receivable and general ledger. Position requires accuracy, attention to detail, the ability to concentrate, good phone manner and dependability.

Publications - Assist with photo scanning, copying, folding and cutting required for various jobs, some binding and framing, layouts, copy entry and editing, perform some research, general office duties such as answering phones, filing, etc. Familiarity with Mac environment and publishing software is preferred.

Chemistry Lab - Willing to work the Chemistry Department Laboratory. Is comfortable handling chemicals and can work independently on various projects as needed throughout the semester.

President's Office - Answer phones, filing, assist with mass mailings, run errands, work major events. Must have good computer skills, well groomed, courteous, well organized, dependable and punctual. This position requires maximum responsibility and confidentiality

Admissions - Label and stuff envelopes, help prepare mailings, file credentials and applications, keep office supplied with publications, carry boxes, answer phones, take messages, copying, computer entry and other office duties as assigned. Student needs to be prompt and dependable.

Academic Success - Assist staff members in operating academic success programs, coordinate with staff for implementation of the various programs sponsored by the office, serve as a liaison between students, staff and faculty and other office duties as assigned. This position requires complete confidentiality.
