Artist Fellowship Program
May 21 - June 3, 2006

Your ensemble will gain insights and draw inspiration from the Festival’s resident artist-teachers through daily guidance and contact in a relaxed and beautiful environment.

THE PROGRAM IS TUITION-FREE. There is only one fee, $75 per person, due after acceptance, to hold the ensemble’s place in the program.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE? Any advanced chamber ensemble, in any combination of strings, winds, percussion, and piano.

PROGRAM IS LIMITED TO 12 PLAYERS.

YOUR ENSEMBLE RECEIVES FREE:

      • Hour-and-a-half coachings by Festival artists on a
         round-robin basis, Monday-Thursday mornings of
         both weeks. Repertoire is usually 2 works, one per week,
         in consultation with Mr. Kidd.

      • Ample opportunities to perform, including 2 formal
         concerts on Thursday evenings and 4 Prelude
         Performances before each of the Friday and Saturday
         Artist Concerts.

      • Lodging in single rooms (which can also be used for
         individual practice), three meals a day, and linen service
         for the two weeks.

      • Use of all facilities of Hampden-Sydney College,
         including a new fitness center, all athletic facilities, the
         library, and an indoor-outdoor swimming pool.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

      • Complete the application form.

      • Enclose a recent recording (cassette, CD, or DVD) of
         the ensemble with the name of the ensemble and the
         title of works clearly identified.

      • Enclose the $15 non-refundable application fee.
