Nine Students and Two Professors Inducted into ODK
|
On March 30, nine juniors and seniors and two Hampden-Sydney College professors were
inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa,
the national leadership honor society for college men and women.
The Lambda Circle of ODK was established at
Hampden-Sydney in 1924, and membership is a mark of highest distinction and honor. Selection of members is based
on their influence as campus leaders to better campus life and to encourage high standards in all activities.

The faculty elected Honoris Causa:
James Y. Simms, Jr., Elliott Professor of History. A.B., University of Maryland, 1958; M.A.,
University of Maryland, 1965; Ph.D., University of Michigan, 1976. Dr. Simms joined Hampden-Sydney College in 1968.
Paul H. Mueller, Associate Professor of Chemistry. B.A., St. Olaf College, 1975; Ph.D., Northwestern University, 1980.
Dr. Mueller joined Hampden-Sydney College in 1985.
