Announcements are sent to The Farmville Herald Arts Calendar on all open-to-the-public events whether requested or not.

If additional publicity is requested, the Public Relations Office will send a pre-event announcement or news release to The Farmville Herald, the other Southside weekly newspapers, and The Tiger.  Please forward a copy of all pertinent information on this event to Public Relations Box 857 or e-mail to lcassada@hsc.edu.  Biographical information and publicity photos of participants are very helpful (2 copies preferred if hard copy; 300 dpi needed in .jpg format if electronic).

College events are photographed only if requested and scheduled through the Public Relations Office.  Photo processing costs will be billed to your department.


Photography Tips: 
#1 Photographs of speakers interacting with students are more interesting and useful in publications than standard behind-the-lectern shots.  If you wish, in addition to during the presentation, photographs can be taken before or after the lecture.  In these cases, it is extremely helpful if the sponsor will help "stage" the photographs.
#2 Lighting in some of the venues frequently used for lectures is not particularly good for photography. The worst is the Chairman’s Room. Parents & Friends is satisfactory. The best is Crawley Forum. However, in all cases, the situation is made difficult, if not impossible, when lights are turned down or off to accommodate projection equipment. If you know a speaker will require low light, please indicate below under “Special Instructions” so that we can arrange to take photographs before or after the lecture.
