Pre-Law Society

The Hampden-Sydney Pre-Law Society was established in 1977 to serve the needs of students who are exploring the possibility of entering the field of law or are actively applying for admission to law school. Membership is open to all interested students.

The Society's aim is to acquire and make available information regarding the practice of law and associated vocations in the field, prerequisites for the study of law, and the admission requirements and procedures of law schools. The Society serves as a forum for the discussion of a broad array of issues relating to the study and practice of law. In addition, the Law Society participates in moot court competitions, sponsors speakers and visits to law schools and courts, and organizes workshops to assist student in preparing for the law school entrance exam. Students, a faculty advisor, and an advisor from the Center for Counseling and Career Services coordinate the Society's activities.
