TELECOMMUNICATIONS INFORMATION, RULES, & REGULATIONS (Students)

Authorization Code

In order to make long-distance calls, you must use a 7-digit authorization code assigned to you by BTI, or you must place an operator-assisted call using some other provider’s calling card. If you do not already have an authorization code from BTI, go on-line to www.btitelecomm.net and select “Student Life.”

Confidentiality of Authorization Code and Your Responsibilities

You will keep the same BTI authorization code as long as you are at Hampden-Sydney. If you desire, you may use the card when you are away from campus, and continue to use this service after you graduate. Do not share your authorization code with anyone. Treat it as you would any credit card or bank cash-flow card. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of this code. Additionally, protect your telephone by Locking your room when it is unoccupied. If your authorization code is lost or stolen, notify BTI immediately at 1-800-7609-7999. At that time, the number will be deactivated and you will be instructed to go to the website to apply for a new card. You will be responsible for all calls made before you notify BTI.
