Recent Public Service Program graduates have obtained positions in the Office of the
Vice-President of the United States and with several Senators, in the Treasury, Labor,
Commerce, and Justice Departments, and in various agencies of the states of Virginia,
Minnesota, California, Texas, and Pennsylvania.
Students from the Program have been admitted to graduate studies at Columbia, Johns Hopkins,
Oxford, Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, and Michigan, as well as at the law schools of Yale,
Harvard, Georgetown, Duke, Virginia, Texas, and the University of Southern California.

In the fall of 2007, The Wilson Center at Hampden-Sydney College initiated a leadership program for a select group of freshmen students.
The first event was a reception, after which the students were invited to apply for acceptance into the program. The next event, for those
accepted, was a Sunday Leadership Workshop. Other events for the first year include an evening speaker and a workshop on creativity and opennness to change. The program
has been coordinated by Dr. Curtis Smith, who teaches in the Public Service Program.
